Genre is the term used to describe a loose set of criteria for categorization of literature and speech, as well as many other forms of art or culture. Genres are formed by conventions that change over time as new genres are invented and the use of older ones is discontinued. Often, works fit into multiple genres by way of borrowing and recombining these conventions. While the scope of the word "genre" is commonly confined to art and culture, it also defines individuals' interactions with and within their environments. These interactions and environments must be recurring in order to be recognized as genre. Correspondingly, a Sub-genre is a set of loose criteria, based within the main genre that further defines the storyline. Anonymous - As the genre type states, neither participant formally knows the other. This results in a situation where each must get to know the other to some degree, forming some basis of trust, before sexual relations occur.
Sexploitative - This SexSkits' genre is based where one participant uses the power of the established situation to exploit the other for sexual gratification.
Dominance - A SexSkit genre based in the natural order where one participant is able to exercise their sexual will over the other willing, submissive participant.
Submission - A SexSkit genre based in the natural order where one participant is willed by the other more dominant participant to perform sexually.
Force - A spin-off of the Dominance genre, the dominant participant uses either physical force or the threat of phisical force to exercise their sexual willover the other willing, not necessarily submissive participant.
Taboo - A SexSkit genre that is contains sexual role play material that is outside of that which is readily accepted by current society or law.
Exhibitionism - A SexSkit genre based on one participant exposing themselves or acting provocatively in a public setting, or a setting where there exists no expectation of privacy.
Promiscuity - A SexSkit genre where one participant is a willing sexual partner to anyone without boundaries.
Authority - A SexSkit genre where one participant may be in an authoritative position, and use that position to exercise their sexual will over the other.
Historical - A SexSkit genre based on a historical figure or event.
Mystical - A SexSkit genre based on one participant having special powers that enable them to exercise their sexual will over the other.
Quid Pro Quo - A SexSkit genre where one participant makes use of a promise of some sort of reward for sexual gratification.
Infidelity – A SexSkits genre where one participant or both are married (to others) and are having an elective or pay-to-play sexual affair.
